[ "For the land that soaks up frequent rains and then brings forth a crop useful to its owners receives a blessing from God;
8 but if it keeps producing thorns and thistles,
it fails the test and is close to being cursed in the end, it will be burned. "]

Why the comparison of thistles to fig Tree's is what I wonder about.

Blessings Always
I also wonder how long a fruit tree is to be left untouched verse a thistles outcome.

For those that have noticed the similarities between thistles and figs in appearance.
Blessings Always in sound judgement and discernment as lamps to ones feet.

A fig tree left untouched for three yrs is especially diffrentiated from a thistle that is definitively biennial.

[ 2: continuing or lasting for two years specifically, of a plant : growing vegetatively during the first year and fruiting and dying during the second]

As determination is considered im reminded of a fig tree untouched for 3 days in contrast to a thistle.

Blessed be The Holy One

A perspective account of a biennial thistle from Genesis 41

[ Now it happened at the end of two full years that Pharaoh had a dream, and behold, he was standing by the Nile. ]

Are the keys to The Kingdom out of reach of the common son or daughter?

Oh, I'm just waiting for you to post something about the Savior. If you're going to bring up discernment and understanding the spirit then point to Jesus.

The True vine is precisely what I've pointed to in this bible study of comparable fruits.
The thistle reminds me of works burned along with even the green briar that produces fruit in winter.
Both the thorns and thistles provide nourishment to certain insects and animals.
Flowers and nectar for bees and butterflies, along with seed protein for others.
Briars provide both cover and nourishment with berries to many birds and other animals.

While such species as insects, birds, and more are given provision.
I find that the Lords nourishment of grapes and figs with seeds for His children exceeds the thorns and thistles.

Do you concur?
