It's as if you think that God isn't doing the works through us? If we sit here and demand that we get out there and do some works...that's doing it all wrong.
You’re adding words and conclusions that I never said in order to further your own side of the discussion. 1 Timothy 1:19 clearly establishes that our response to God’s gift of faith has consequences.

1 Timothy 1:19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.

I don’t think that’s what he’s saying. I think he’s saying that the people who have no works…that’s evidence that they don’t really have faith at all.

Are you the one judging those people you say have no works?

Here's the thing, a Christian WILL have works because he has the Holy Spirit dwelling within him. If you're resisting the Holy Spirit, then you're probably throwing away faith too and turning away from God all together. In that case, you wouldn't be producing good works because those who don't have faith don't do good works. It takes faith for works to be considered good.

@Tigger this addresses what you said too

Works can precede faith. Believing is a work - mental work.

Okay, in a sense faith is a work ( in a sense) but it’s not our work, it’s the gift of God.

Exactly! John 6:29 “Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
