I've been getting FedEx deliveries and inside is a rectangular flat box that contains 2 five dollar bills and a survey asking how often you listen to radio and television... They then sell the information back to advertisers kind of like how google does the same.. Then I got another package, and then another, plus 2 cards with $100 each on it... my instinct tells me it's hollywood money so I kept it for novelty reasons.. anyway the more I research it the more I find out that other people (random) are getting the same thing and receiving money...
If the money is fake it is a very good one! Checks out in the light, has the strip inside, has a reserve number, when next to a real one you will never know the difference BUT the money itself feels a bit rough (like paper) and the number printing creates an indention on the back side, its crisp so maybe money softens a little bit and the indentions flatten out.. so far no one online has claimed the money is fake but they do say that after doing the surveys they send more money and then ask you to wear a mechanism that picks up tv and radio frequencies for them to gather info to sell to advertisements... probably due to the fact that many people do not use google or have house phones I dunno..
Anyone else ever get these?

Do they call and harass you also after they send you the marketing stuff they want your opinion on? I think I did something like that years ago. I didn't think it was worth my time

I do not know the answer to your question, Andrew, but I do know that Nielson does include cash money along with their reporting sheets, etc.

HOWEVER, the money is a token--a dollar or several dollars for your trouble--nothing like you are reporting. Also, the materials are detailed and require a lot of work on your part; it's not simply filling out a questionnaire.

In other words, I suspect a scam.

I researched it online and it's just random people that get these packages, yes they want you to participate in the questionnaire but I haven't nor will I, if it's real money I'm not going through the trouble of sending it back. I testify honestly that I never once got involved or signed up or anything so I really am lost on why I'm getting these packages.
Maybe my dad fell for some scam but according to others it's just random.
It was 3 times in one week so I have no clue but when the UPS comes again I'll have to ask some serious questions but I'm not responding to any paper work they give me...
THIS JUST IN: my dad just said that after the first envelope we received, a lady came by and gave my dad a halloween basket gift with all sorts of goodies, im just now putting two and two together.. She told him "you have been targeted" and on this is on behalf of Nielson, it contained the 100 dollar card as well lol its a scam and i dont trust the money, the card is trashed.. scam but a very generous one :/

Most gift cards you can call the number on the back and inquire about remaining balance. I'd give that a shot :)

When I was helping sort out the affairs of a deceased relative I found a few letters from assorted research companies and charities with small amounts of money in them. One charity in particular (I forget which one, it was some years back now) had sent a few envelopes with the crispest $1 bills I'd ever seen in them, with the psychological game that you could keep the $1 or send it back with an added donation. I don't send money to charities who cold-contact me, so I gathered up the money and put it in the bank. The letters went in the fire.

If you're getting free money take it to the bank and ask if it's real. If it is, put it in your account and be thankful. If it isn't, tell the bank where it came from - there are very specific laws about creating things that look too much like real money and they determine just how different from real money an imitation has to be. I recently saw a table in an insurance company that had a spread of $100 bills on it, but they were very significantly bigger than real bills so they obviously weren't real. I know one of the options of being allowed to print your own "money" is that it must be larger or smaller than real money by a defined percentage (I think maybe 50%) so it's clear that it isn't real.
