In Ortodox Christianity nobody can become a priest in the church unless he finishes 4 year long college where he studies the bible in depth and also other religions. The time he arrives there, he is strong in knowledge of the Bible and needs no help.
It is not an easy college at all.

I dunno how it works for you in USA.
