There is a video going around for how the swab is inserted to test for the Coronavirus and the swab has to be pushed in deeply into your nostril. I get routine scopes where a camera is put into my nose and goes down to my vocal cords and the trick is to pretend you're sucking a piece of spaghetti through your nose. Breathe in deeply while it goes in because the natural inclination is to fight it and that hurts more. Then when it's time to pull it out you need to exhale and help push it out.
Hope you remember this if you have to have any type of similar testing done! My doctor told me this the very first time I had to have a scope and it helped so much and I didn't get any numbing medicine that first time or the second time. I don't think they put numbing medicine in for these swab tests! Sometimes my doctor has the numbing medicine and it helps but there are times when I just have to endure it.
Also be aware of which nostril you can better breathe through. For me it's my right nostril and my left one is more narrow and slightly crooked so I know not to have any tests done on that side.
