I have fond memories of lying on my top bunk bed in the room I shared with my older brother playing his copy of the Beatles' Abbey Road LP. He's three years older than I so he was listening to things that I was too young to buy for myself :)

I liked a lot of the Beatles later stuff but was not fond of Yeah Yeah Yeah and the other mindless drivel of their first hits

I was born in 66 so I was a baby when that song came out. I do remember hippies though! I remember living in Missouri and we had bungalow style houses with big front porches and I walked down the block (at the age of 2) to see if the hippie girls down the street wanted to play LOL I think that was one of the boldest moments of my life! They told me to go home :(

I still love the old tunes, so do my kids and grandkids. It seemes that musicianship was more valued back then. Most of the music today sounds too(what's the word?) cookie cutter. Every artist sounds like every other artist imho. There are a few today who are breaking out of that mold though. One of my favorite hippy songs was
