Member using forum for advertising?

I've noticed that a certain member is posting random polls/questions - almost spamming the forum (imo) with a link to an external forum in the poster's signature. The OP does not (or rarely) post in the threads they create. Are there forum rules for advertising one's own website, and is this a way to get around such rule if one exists?

Might be a paid bot to boost activity

If you're referring to Jazzy, she's my good friend and she has permission to have the link to her site and I have links to my forums on her site. She's not a bot She's helping to get some conversation going and I go to her site and try to help out as well. It's what Admins like to do from time to time, help one another out.

I don't pay people money to post here.

I understand that. Maybe encourage some response from her so it doesn't look like drive-by posting? But it's all good

She's posted here and there besides creating new threads. I know she's returned to read some of the threads as well so they aren't drive by
