Should medical aid in dying be legal? (Why/Why Not)

Think about this, and I am serious. Should medical aid, to keep someone alive, be illegal when the person is beyond a normal life due to age or injury?

Doctors and pharmaceutical companies want to keep everyone alive as long as they can so as to milk their insurance and family for everything they can.

The medical profession today is all about money. If you don't have money or insurance you are of no value to the profession. If you do have it, then you are worth saving, and to keep alive as long as they can.

Today, when you walk into the doctors office, they don't see you as a person in need. They see you as someone who needs to be in the system, so they can administer all those pills that will keep you healthy and them rich. And of course the pills they give you cause 'side affects' which means you need to take other pills to counter that...etc. etc.

I have come to this conclusion, the best thing one can do for his family, is to just die when it is time. Why should we as Christians try and keep our carcass alive just to benefit the medical profession.

My opinion.

There is certainly something ironic when it's considered cruel to keep an animal alive when it's constantly suffering, and yet to do anything other than prolong a human's suffering is considered illegal.

There certainly need to be lots of checks and balances - it would be unfortunate if someone with relatively minor health issues were pressured into seeking medically assisted suicide for no reason other than their heirs wanting to get their hands on an inheritance while there still was an inheritance. Whether the person was spending the inheritance on medical bills or living it up doesn't really matter, as long as they were making a specific choice to do it.
