If that's how it's done now, maybe that's why there seem to be so many people that have licenses that look like they have no idea how to actually drive.

Things change over time, but not always for the better.

I first learned to drive abroad, where the test meant something. When I passed my driving test here all I could think was "well that explains a lot"

There are several reports that a second storm is coming.
It is not looking good

Is that the one expected to hit NC and VA, and the very coast between about DC and ME?

Mark from Weatherman Plus put out a new update 3 hours ago.
He now predicts there could even be 2 storms back to back.

For some people like myself the secondary roads and roads in our neighborhood are never plowed. I've lived here 19 years and never once saw a snow plow. The primary highways and main roads get treatment before and after storms and was clear in about two days. It might be different in the mountain counties were there may be more resources. With this storm, the eastern side of NC and VA were the counties that got hit hard

What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you able to get around with the streets not plowed?

I drive a pick up. This is a fairly new vehicle for me. I am not impressed with its ability to handle the icy road.

Did you put sandbags in the bed to weigh it down?

No, there was about a foot of snow back there though

My husband puts sandbags down, especially over the wheel areas to help put some weight and prevent the back end from sliding. We have a piece of wood across the back to keep them in place so they don't move around too much. No one has stolen them yet :)

It's relatively rare for us to have as much snow as we did. Today it was about 68 degrees and much of the snow melted.
I can think of only one other time in the last 20 years when we have close to that much snow here
