Mask Show Off

Here is a thread where you can show off the masks you have! I made a new one today and like how it turned out. I put this in the Health forum since it's related to health because we're forced to wear masks in most parts of the United States.



I used this tutorial to make it and chose to not use the elastic ear bands but instead I used the ties off the dress for the top fabric that used to be a belt and the mask ties around my head. I find it more comfortable.

I'd like to find a mask I can actually tolerate. Even using a regular buff (which I'm led to believe is thin enough to be almost useless as a barrier) I struggle to breathe through it after 10 minutes or less. At that point I don't care what the governor says, it's coming off.

I don't like having anything touch my nose when I try to breathe so that's why I went looking online for a mask pattern that gave me more air around my nose and the one in the OP fits the bill. I am going to make more since the first one took less than an hour.

I'm going to see if I can find something with valves in it. Until the elastic in my P100 respirator failed I could wear that for multiple hours when doing dusty work.

Although the valve means what I'm breathing out is released right away, it's either that or nothing for me in this warm weather.

Guess that just gives me one more reason not to go to Disney.
