Life in The People's Republic of California is often entertaining. It's a "one-party" state, the Democrats hold every state-wide office and have for decades, and both houses of the legislature are so dominated by Democrats as to leave the Republicans entirely irrelevant. With the exception of a couple of small local newspapers and some Fox News channels, the press is just a puppet of the Democrats.

Often, we see just how liberals "think" (I use that word loosely). Now, a new one. "Jaywaking" - it refers to crossing a street NOT in a cross walk. It's against the law nearly everywhere in the world because "jay walkers" unfortunately often get hit by cars and sometimes cause car accidents. It's not safe.

A recent study found that Hispanics/Latinos/Latinas are arrested and fined for Jaywalking at twice the rate as their population in the State (they are also killed because of jaywalking at twice the rate). Thus, this proves the law is discriminatory toward Hispanics. Thus, the legislature "decriminalized" jaywalking (it's no longer illegal in California). Every Democrat in both houses voted for this (every Republican against it) and our governor, Gavin Newsom, signed this.

Now, it seems no one considered if this actually may increase the number of people killed by cars - with Hispanics at twice the rate of the general population. Or if it means we should also decriminalize speeding since young men are ticketed at a rate greater than the general population. Because Liberals ... well.... there's that "think" word.

Now I know, normal people in other states like to laugh at California. And I can't blame you. But do so at your own peril. Because what happens in California doesn't stay in California. Liberals everywhere see what they can get away with. And of course, Newsom may be the next president of the US.

The illogic that's political liberalism never ceases to amaze. The obvious solution to the imbalance between the races when it comes to jaywalking would be to ticket some white pedestrians at random until the numbers are even.

They wouldn't actually be jaywalking like the real offenders, but in today's society they could be charged with intent to jaywalk...or with having done something to force the actual jaywalkers to jaywalk--be standing on the sidewalk, for instance. That situation, in turn, made the Hispanics so terrified of some hypothetical racist something that they thought they had no escape but to take to the street.

Which brings us to the big question. Why do normal people stay in California instead of moving somewhere else?

... because there's more reasons to stay in or leave an area than the government.

Such as? Given the huge number of grievances traceable to government action (or inaction, as the case may be), which the rest of us hear about frequently from people like yourself and which don't take place in any other state, I cannot imagine what those answers might be.

Keep in mind that we don't imagine that everything in California is awful or, for that matter, that we're suggesting that people like yourself should seriously consider moving to just any alternate location.
