My friend, a staunch Catholic, was telling me about this neat Protestant store that’s similar to a Catholic run store but it’s geared toward non Catholics. I thought that since I’m a fairly new Lutheran and we often still shop at the Catholic store, this would be helpful to my spirituality.

Well, imagine my surprise to find out this is a New Age Metaphysical store, the same one I shopped at a few times way back when I dabbled in New Age (except they moved, I think). They sell crystals, tarot cards, books on reincarnation, Astrology etc.

Isn’t it sinful for a Lutheran, as well as a Catholic to dabble in that kind of stuff?
I admit I’m still kind of drawn to the “healing powers” and meditative effects of crystals so I probably should stay away. If it’s sinful, then why?

Yeah stay away from that store. Btw what protestant sect is this?

Truth is, witches believe they can control and predict their future, and healing is a gift from God not of pagan crystals.

I've seen this kind of stuff in stores in the Texas valley around Mexico and in Mexico, charms of saints and healing saint cards, they also believe in saint mortes and have skeleton saints, creepy

You should tell your friend that the store might be run by a Protestant but that it carries New Age items that go against what Christians believe and practice.

Crystals won't heal you.

I think that stuff is sinful for everybody, not just Lutherans.

I doubt it’s run by any Protestant denomination. I think she’s very naive and, well, not too bright.

Why did your Catholic friend claim this was a "PROTESTANT" establishment? Did he/she verify that?

Why do you think Lutherans would approve of this store?

Yes, Lutheransim DOES teach it's sinful to "dabble" in such. So do es Catholicism.

I have NO idea why she thought it was Protestant.

I know Lutherans don’t approve of stores such at those, but I wanted to know if they’re sinful.

i texted this same friend today, asking her what she saw in this place that made her think it was a Christian store. She replied “rosaries”. Well, I knew better but wondered if there was a slight chance that since I’d been there it changed to a store that includes all faiths, even Christianity. So I called them and the manager said that they don’t sell rosaries and referred me to a nearby Catholic store.

Either this friend is lying or she saw some necklace that she thought resembled a rosary? I don’t know. A lot of things don’t add up about this person.
