Latte, Macchiato, Americano, etc

There are a lot of fancy coffee drinks to order from when you walk into a coffee shop. Do you buy just a black coffee, or do you go all out and order something different?

I used to like to order caramel lattes, and I would really only get them a couple times a year, but last year they all tasted like steamed milk and nothing else. So this morning I went to a drive-thru coffee shop in town and got a caramel macchiato. It tasted like the latte used to taste 10 years ago, so maybe that's the drink I should start ordering now when I have the urge?

Oh, and I'll be awake all night now, fyi.

I always take macchiato or coffee wrong, cause I don't like coffee. Coffee wrong is milk with a bit of coffee

I very seldom go to coffee shops because they usually disappoint me.

There was a local one that was really good but it couldn't survive the fuhrer's shutdown. Another one managed to survive and the coffee there is good but it's a bit out of the way for us. When I go there I usually order a filter coffee. No point paying coffee shop prices for cheap coffee at all, and no point paying for quality coffee and then drowning it in so much milk you can't taste it.
