How many paintings should an artist create during his/her lifetime for you to consider that (s)he left behind a large body of work?

What would constitute a small body of work?

That's an interesting question. I guess I never really studied the amount of work any artist has done (as in quantity). I suppose, the more an artist does, the more well known he becomes because you rarely hear about one hit wonders in the art world besides music, right?

I'm trying to think of more current artists and the ones I think are becoming famous paint just about every day. It's their breath of life. I'm not one of them LOL I have to be really motivated to do art these days, unlike when I was younger and drew all the time.
