My legs are feeling kind of sore after all the walking/hiking I've been doing. I might just do my indoor steps to ease up on the stress.

The last few days have been too cold or windy to run so I walked my regular loop. Today my suggested workout was VO2 max intervals but I didn't feel like doing that (truth be told I didn't feel like running at all today) so I made an effort to keep my speed down. I've been struggling with that lately, but today was a much slower run than my recent efforts, even if not as slow as I'd aimed for. It's surprisingly difficult to run slowly.

I see that next week is going to be 60s F in my area! I can't wait to go hiking as much as I can.

I did another slow run today. I'm getting better at running slowly although it still feels like a constant battle against the urge to increase the pace. One newly acquired issue is that I've developed a desire to run hard at the hills to get them over with, but that's not a good way to keep my heart rate under control. I got another 10k and change in, and didn't die of boredom which was a bonus.

I walked two miles on the paved trail at the park yesterday. When I started, it was cloudy, windy and cold and then at the last half mile, it got sunny and hot!

Yesterday I did a walk because we had a friend over and ended up having a late lunch, and I didn't have time to let lunch digest before running because we also had a dinner invitation. Today and tomorrow will probably also be walks because we're expecting gale force winds, and I really don't care much for running into sustained 20-30mph winds when gusts are higher still.

No walk for me today. I seem to have caught my husband's cold. My version is a lot weaker than his, so that's good and I just chose to do nothing and feel really good this evening now.

I think I've come down with much the same thing. I thought it was just a bit of sinus trouble but wasn't feeling great yesterday and still not feeling great. Yesterday I bundled up and dragged myself around enough of my walk to get 10,000 steps - I cut it short because I didn't need the full distance, thanks to doing some other stuff during the day.

Today I don't have the other stuff to do and it's still very windy so I'll probably be doing another walk bundled up. Hopefully whatever this is will shift so I can run again once the wind fades.

I've been in bed mostly and woke up today and want to go back to bed. The Mucinex and sinus problems make me so sleepy. At least it's not a bad cold this time, so I'll just end the Mucinex for now.

Yesterday I could tell I've mostly kicked whatever this is because the cold wind chilled me slightly on the outside but didn't leave me feeling chilled to the bone. I still have stuffy sinuses but it's moved past the phase of being sick with it and into the phase of being sick of it. At this point it's just an annoyance having a stuffed up nose.

I got about 7,000 steps walking around the house yesterday. I had a bad night with my nose being too stuffed so I couldn't sleep.

My husband and I went to the park yesterday to walk, but his foot was bothering him because he had been sitting funny at work. Now his achilles tendon is inflamed but at least we got one good mile in before we went back home.

That doesn't sound fun. I had a challenge to run a 10k this weekend and the forecast wasn't great for today or tomorrow so I did it yesterday. I started out at a moderate pace but then decided to do speed repeats instead. At about 3.9 miles I noticed my average pace was a little higher than a nice round number and wondered if I could kick up the pace and hold it for long enough to bring it down. It seemed like a tall order but I went for it and managed it, which was good. It worked my system really hard trying to sustain the pace, even with a gentle downhill to enjoy, but I got there.

Today my suggested workout is "rest", again. So I guess it will be a walk. Tomorrow we have a meal after church so I'm unlikely to want to do anything strenuous after that.

We went back to the park today and my husband could do the 2 miles, so that was good. Now he's napping :D

It's been such nice weather that I've been able to get to the park the past few days! Yesterday I got over 12,000 steps!! I've been sleeping great from all the fresh air too. :)

Friday I did 4 miles of speed repeats. The plan was to do six miles but it was too soon after lunch so I bailed at 4 and walked the last part.

Today I did 5 miles of sprint repeats. Again I wanted to do six miles but my legs hit the point they had nothing left to give so I walked the last part. Now my watch isn't telling me I have a shortage of anaerobic workouts any more. Tomorrow I'll take it easier.

It's been far too long since I went for a hike in the woods, so today was the day I reset the counter back to zero.

It was a bit breezy but otherwise conditions were good, sunny and warm enough without being too warm. My fitness has obviously improved since my last hike because I was clocking faster times on the inclines even without pushing all that hard. The fourth mile of the hike is usually the slowest - it's downhill but takes in lots of extremely rocky paths and a lot of the rocks are loose. Usually that mile takes me 25-30 minutes but today it took 21. The next mile is entirely uphill and that went past surprisingly quickly even though I wasn't pushing hard.

All in I did a little over 8 miles and it was great to be out in the mountains again. I need to do that more often.

We're going to the park to do a couple of miles on the paved trail. My husband has had some foot issues and I'm hoping he can walk the full 2 miles.

Day out with a friend today so my walk had to wait until this evening. It's fun walking in the dark. I carry a light with me so I can be seen if a car approaches but there's very little traffic on the back roads so for the most part I can walk without it. There's enough light from the moon to see what I need to see, although I did step in a puddle I didn't spot.

We got up early to go for our walk since it's going to be 80 today!! My husband gets hotter than I do, so we'll do this when it's cool out and then run our errands after that.
