Justice Kennedy is retiring from Supreme Court

Article from USA Today
WASHINGTON – Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement Wednesday, handing President Trump and Senate Republicans an opportunity to create a solidly conservative court that could last for decades.

Kennedy first informed his colleagues on the court about his plans, then personally delivered a simple, two-paragraph letter to Trump addressed, "My dear Mr. President."

Shortly after speaking with Kennedy, the president said he would move "immediately" to select someone from a list of 25 potential nominees assembled previously with the help of conservative interest groups.

"It will be somebody from that list," Trump said. "Hopefully, we will pick someone who is just as outstanding."

I wish Justice Kennedy well. He ought to have retired ten years ago.

Yes, so that a Republican President can assign his replacement. :D
Who knows if that is good or bad. My opinion is that as society turns from God toward politics it won't matter. Both parties will be godless.
I even watch as Christians put their trust in politics to get their way rather than rest in God's direction. Last I checked, God's plans are not necessarily Franklin Graham's plans.

Maybe he stayed in his role in the hope that he could stand down at a time that would allow a Republican to choose his replacement?
