John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Israel had to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God to be justified unto eternal life (John 20:31). Israel had to believe on Jesus and his name (John 1:12 1 John 3:23).

In John 8:31 it was to believing Jews that Jesus was speaking; Jesus told the Jews that to be his disciple they had to continue in his word.

The believing Jews had to continue to abide in Christ, the vine, or be cast forth as an unfruitful branch (John 15:6).

If they continued in his word they would endure to the end (Matthew 24:13 Mark 13:13) and be granted entrance into the promised kingdom on earth and would reign with Christ over the nations (Daniel 7:14 Revelation 5:10 Revelation 20:4).

Amen. And this is True for us as well.
Being "grafted" into the one olive tree which is Israel. all the promises and warnings given to them are for us as well.

Hello
Yes indeed we believe on Jesus as well for all that was revealed through Paul in regard to our redemption.

But, to clarify, the body of Christ Gentiles are not grafted into the good olive tree. Romans 9-11 is dealing with Israel. Romans 11 is dealing with the believing remnant of Israel according to the election of grace (Romans 11:5) at that time. The Gentiles Paul speaks of in Romans 11:17-24 were in the church at that time and were members of the remnant of Israel by believing the gospel of the kingdom preached by Jesus and the twelve apostles.
