Jesus Revolution Movie

The Jesus Revolution has just debuted at theaters.The movie is a dramatization of the early Jesus Movement of the late 1960's and early 70's in California at Chuck Smith's Calvary Chapel. It focus's on the ministries of Lonnie Frisbee and Chuck Smith with the hippies in southern California. Greg Laurie, who was involved in the Jesus Movement and also instrumental in the making of the movie also has a new book out, Lennon, Dylan , Alice and Jesus: a Spiritual Biography of Rock and Roll documenting the born again experiences of John Lennon, Bob Dylan and Alice Cooper.

The Jesus Revolution Movie is significantly outperforming expectations in regard to attendance and revenue earned. Greg Laurie is hoping that the movie will help spark a revival similar to that which occurred in the late 60's and early 70's and feels that the climate is ripe for such a revival.

I have connected with Greg Laurie's Harvest Ministries and I am impressed with his daily radio program, A New Beginning, which is available on the internet. I am also impressed with his ministry in general and the way it reaches out to people to help them in their Christian growth, especially in the case of new Christians. He also has a weekly television program.

I pray that we will have a great revival that will spread through the nations.

I can't help but notice that there are very few prayer requests on this forum. I would like to see this forum become a place of prayer.

I also recommend Herald of His Coming which is free and is mailed out every 2 months. It is about 12 pages long and in newspaper format and is also available for reading on the internet. It includes articles by Tozer, Spurgeon and others. I look forward to it coming in my mail as it is a great faith builder .
