My desktop computer has a i7 2600K and 16 GB RAM and 500 GB SSD and two 1 TB HDDs and a "XFX HD5770 850M PCIe/1GB/DVI/HDMI" graphics card .... I bought it in 2011 for around AUD 1,364.75 and not I am wondering ought I to buy a new desktop PC? The one I have works well. Maybe it could do with a new graphics card or something ... but is it too old to bother upgrading any more?

What do you think?

Your computer doesn't sound old at all. I bought my new laptop an i7 last year. Is it running slow or having issues?

It sounds like you bought the top of the line at the time. If you can improve the graphics card and are able to afford it then go for it :) Since it's a fast computer and you have enough storage then you should be good for a couple more years!

Are you into gaming where you might need to have something more advanced?

What do you need a new card for then? Only if you use drawing programs or photoshop or games it's handy. I'd leave it as it is as long as it's not slow.

I do not think I need one, but needs and wants are often different.

Yes but I mean does it make much difference? I don't know what you use it for. I don't think I'd notice the difference.
