We've had a thread about naming the sins for which Christ did not die in CH for a while now. As the discussion in that thread progresses a sin - at least one - was pointed to as one for which Christ did not die. That sin was the unforgivable sin - the sin that the Lord Jesus Christ referred to as blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Stopping to consider what is meant by "sins for which Christ died" is worth while. If Christ died for your sins do we mean that he shed his blood on the cross so that your sins would be washed away by his shed blood? Or is something else meant? If your sins remain and you are finally condemned by God on the last day by God were your sins washed away or not? Are you condemned for your sins including the sin of not believing in Jesus Christ even though they were washed away or were they not washed away? In brief did Christ shed his blood to wash away all sins of everybody or did his shed blood not wash away the sins of some people?
