Instant Pot

Does anyone own an Instant Pot? I've seen friends posting about it on Facebook and it supposedly cooks food in a short amount of time. Kind of like the reverse of a crock pot?

I don't own one and can't see it making my life any easier. About the only thing I bottle/can is tomatoes, and the time it takes doesn't warrant buying the product. I never have a problem evenly cooking (a little water and a covered pan works fine), I germinate rice all the time without one, and cooking soaked and/or germinated brown rice is quick anyway. I could see a possible use in the hydrolysis of starch quicker (as a step in the conversion to sugar), but the vessel isn't big enough and gas is cheap compared to electricity here.

I have seen online posts of roasts being cooked in short amounts of time and I suppose for working moms that could be beneficial.

There was a story in the newspaper today about a Girl Scout who sold like $300 in cookies right outside a pot store (now legal in CA)..... Pot causes the munchies, lol
