I wonder what God thinks about human government and how people do it. Surely he dislikes some policies. Surely he would never adopt them himself as ruler of the land.

No need to second guess God, if the times are what I think they are we'll be finding out pretty soon.

FWIW, God pretty much lets us do anything we want to do and receive the consequences as we do. All of our problems, whether as mankind or a whole or a single individual, are those we've made for ourselves.

Decisions have consequences, we decide our way into our circumstances.
