We would have very few elderly people left. Hospitals, doctors, nurses and other care workers would be greatly reduced. Our hospitals would be strained beyond belief. Our relatives, friend and coworkers would be passing away one by one.

If everyone ignored it I suspect the death toll, especially among the elderly and those with preexisting comorbidities (specifically obesity and diabetes) would be huge.

I still think a far better solution would be to protect the most vulnerable and let everyone else make their own decisions regarding how much risk they are happy to take.

Our hospital would be filled to capacity and a lot more elderly and those at high risk would be dying.
