I do because my room is pitch dark at night and I sometimes have to get up and don't want to fall over anything. :)

I couldn't select an answer as mine wasn't there.

I sleep with the door open and the kitchen light on so if I need to get up I won't hurt myself.

About two years ago my wife had a horrific night terror. Totally freaked me out thinking something like an axe murderer was in the room. I didn’t see anything and she’s had several since. Sometimes she’s startled by the shadows cast on the wall by the nightlight when waking up but she still insists on keeping it on. We had an Orthodox priest bless her at vespers a couple of weeks ago and she hasn’t had any since.

No, I prefer the room to be completely dark. I count the steps to the door from the bed so it's no problem getting up at night.

I 'scuff my feet' so my pets sense, I am MOVING and I cannot then step on them
I could find my way around SAFELY (even if, I were blinded overnight)
I know where everything is situated
