I don't think he is an atheist.
He probably knows that there is only one true God and one true way of Salvation.
Even demons know that (James 2:19)
He wants to bring confusion among believers, a bit like the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

In Christ alone, by faith alone, through grace alone...
