Pray also that the water doesnt flood Houston and the ship channel or gas prices are going to skyrocket for everyone

My parents are in Houston and they said they are expected about 10-15 inches of rain. Some areas will flood for sure. I'm really glad right now I don't live in Texas anymore.

Harvey is like, the least threatening name for a hurricane ever. "ooh, Harvey is coming? big whoop, I'll bet it is a breeze!"

all jokes aside though, this looks like a pretty big one..i hope everyone finds safety quickly as possible.

The really tough thing about this storm besides it strength is that it is now just sitting there raining. I use to live on the Gulf Coast and when storms moved on fast it was usually not as bad. One of the worst I remember was Tropical Storm Allison that dumped about 30 inches of rain on Houston

Prayers indeed, I live 30 minutes south of Houston.
Rockport got hit pretty hard, I believe 8 casualties
It finally calmed down where I live but we expect more flooding and alerts constantly of tornados.

I'm getting a lot of pictures from the Houston area since I grew up north of Houston. My parents backyard is flooded but they are safe. I've never seen it that bad before.

My relatives there have been picking up stranded families all day just had to brag on them for that lol
But yeah i live next to the colorado river and its almost breaking a historical flood record for the county, just waiting for the authorities to come knocking on the door for us to evacuate. Church was cancelled today and my boss just called telling me work is cancelled tomorrow, staying strong praying the Lord give me strength

Be ready! More and more people are evacuating!

My local news warned about donating to groups who are scammers. They recommend for now to stay with the big companies such as Red Cross and Salvation Army besides our own churches. For now money is needed but later on other things will be in great need as well as people to help rebuild.

i saw some pictures tonight of the neighborhood I grew up in under water. Not just a little water, but several feet of water. It makes me sick to think about yet at the same time i am so glad I don't still live there. My parents are still okay, but they can't go anywhere since all the roads around them are flooded

Almost everyone in the neighborhood evacuated except my stubborn parents. I have told them to leave, but they are still there. They said the water has gone down today. Last night was the worst. The water was up to the garage and street flooded. They are hard headed like me.

I pray to the Lord that all those affected by this devastating storm will find peace in Him no matter their loss. Praise God.

I noticed now that at least one shelter is taking on water.

Thank God we just barely made it out yesterday morning. Just about the entire town is flooded, no way in and no way out. Truly devastating, some families here have lost everything. Thanks for the prayers
