I saw a post on Facebook today at the hall where my husband and I had our wedding reception. We had received a discount since my husband was a member of the lodge that owned the hall but we still ended up paying $26 a head back in 1990. Today the cost starts at $42 a head and that doesn't include security, tax, gratuity or the bar.

Our wedding was at the church and had a cake reception in the fellowship hall way back in the 70's so it was free. I am not sure about my daughter's or son's weddings as we were not asked to pay for their receptions. I am thinking my daughter's was a flat rate as they brought in the caterer.
