How many forums have you been banned from?

Amen. BUT you assume that one will only be banned if they seriously violate rules. In NONE of my cases of being banned did I violate any rules.

In a good site - like CH - bans would ONLY be for persistent violation of rules, rules that are intuitive and fair, rules that are evenly and evangelically applied. But sites like CH are, in my experience, rare.

I tolerate an awful lot here, that's for sure! I seek to have a member realize what he's doing wrong and get him to correct it before going to the extreme.

... and that's one of the reasons I think so highly of this site. It not ONLY requires fairness but also caring and patience and effort on the part of staff - things mostly missing elsewhere.

The easiest solution around that is to not break the rules.

That works as long as the reason for being banned was breaking the rules.

The forum I think I got banned from (but can't be sure), would have banned me for no reason at all. I can say that with confidence because at the time I think they banned me I hadn't posted anything at all for at least 2-3 years. The only reason I visited at all was to see if there was any life left in the place and whether the nutjobs they were allowing free reign before I left had completely taken over.

Three, ironically the first was a Reformed Forum. I was making the case (in reply to one making the opposite case- Mt 7:14) that many would be saved (Rev 7:9). Everything was peaceful and copestetic until BOOM!
I was a Moderator on the 2nd but got entangled with the wrong crowd through PMs. I regretted that move, I'm back on that forum through a different email but I think they know it is me through my ISP.
The 3rd was sabotage. They called themselves a 'Christian Forum' but it was over run by secularists, evolutionists who would lure you into debate and then report you.
I'm currently a Mod over at a highly regulated Forum, where I have had to learn to mind my 'p's and 'q's.

No Christian forums but when I had AOL I was temporarily banned from some “mom boards”.

Oh that reminds me. I forgot one. Bored Panda. They changed it now, but it used to be that if 10 or more people disliked one post you made you got an automatic ban, because they had scammers and trolls, but just anyone could get a ban for making a joke they didn't get or saying abortion was bad. I think I got banned there at least 4 times and then I'd just make a new account, which everyone did and you'd say oh hey are you so and so? Yes. Oh I'm so and so. Just all got new names and still there's panic sometimes. Don't downvote if you don't agree! Relax. They don't get banned anymore. Really lazy moderating.

Some of the women on the mom boards were vicious…..but I gave as good as I got.
