How can demons tempt us to sin?
When you make an idol or worship idols it has happened already. 1 cor 10:
19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

How can demons tempt us to sin?
It is an interesting question but somewhat irrelevant. I know that I don't really need demons to tempt me. I am often willing, given my fallen sinful nature, to follow the wrong path all by myself without their aid.

How can demons tempt us to sin?
The demons show us the tempting world and use our own sinful, self-centered natures to tempt us. We need to claim Jesus' victory over them through persistent prayer to the Father to be able to gain his power to reject their temptations as James commands us and gives us a promise in 4:7, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
