Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of Hosts,

Heaven and Earth are full of your glory

Hosanna in the Highest

Blessed is He, who comes in the name of the Lord

Hosanna in the Highest

Hosanna in the Highest
When Jesus entered Jerusalem the people said Hosanna in the highest ...

And Jesus said something about waiting until people say "blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord"

And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest! (Matthew 21:9)

For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. (Matthew 23:39)

The opening words of this post are from the Liturgy of the Eucharist in the Mass (according to the Roman Rite) and they almost always make me shed a tear of joy.

It means blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord

Thank you both. I was going to check with a quick google translate but your answers came through before I did that.

In the mass, as we say the Sanctus (Holy holy holy...) I think of those words "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord" and the Lord's promise "you will not see me again, until you say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord" and it seems so fitting that those words are said when the holy Eucharist is made ready for the people to receive; Christ truly is seen among us and it is so as we say "blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord".
