Lol I expect if you live there it counts for everything, but for me it has no significance.

I am sure there is still time, I don't hear the sound of the trumpet yet

Nor do I. So maybe I will see it some day. I wonder ... in heaven do you think there will be historical archives in video form or written form or some other form not yet invented by people? If there is then I may see Peterborough in heaven :)

In UK terms no I do not live near her, however if we were this far apart in Canada I think we would be neighbours, lol

The UK is kind of the length of the province of Manitoba in which I live, so I know exactly what you mean. For me, to hop into the car and drive two hours to visit someone is nothing. A five-hour drive down to the middle of Minnesota in the Excited States to visit my relatives ... or in reverse, when I lived down there ... is nothing. One of the things I hated the most when I lived in Hawaii was the feeling of entrapment. I lived on the so-called Big Island, and I could circle the little thing in five hours ... one or two more if I detoured up into Kohala. One gets used to wide-open spaces on the prairies, even if one lives in a city.

exactly Iacobvs. I have spent some months working near Edmonton AB so I know what your prairies feel like. I actually used to travel down to Calgary for a short overnight visit with my relatives while I was there.

Mind you the price of fuel in Canada was about 20% of the cost in the UK too.

The fuel price difference is remarkable. I remember back when gas hit $4/gallon and listening to people complain about the high price while trying not to laugh, given the cost per mile to put fuel in a honking great V8 SUV was about the same as my sensible four cylinder family car back in England. I told my American hosts how I had fond, if distant, memories of gas being as cheap as $4/gallon.
