Definition of thankful​


1: conscious of benefit receivedfor what we are about to receive make us truly thankful
2: expressive of thanksthankful service
3: well pleased : GLADwas thankful that it didn't rain

As you can see one does not need to be a Christian to be thankful. So atheists still celebrate Thanksgiving as well as Christians. Their thankfulness is in a different way.
