Today is the first day of Hanukkah.

What’s your favorite part of the Hanukkah story? How do you think that the story is important and relevant to your faith?

It is offensive to christ
They all point to his coming and establishing the new covenant in his blood
He came and established the new covenant so we cannot promote or practice Jewish anything!

As a Jewish person who is also Christian, I see no reason to not celebrating a holiday that Jesus also celebrated and is not technically a religious holiday. I "celebrate" it in as much as we light the candles and say the prayers below. I don't think that anyone can really take issue with the prayers from a Christian standpoint:
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us to kindle the this light.

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who performed miracles for our forefathers in those days, at this time.

I agree it is good to keep the Jewish holidays not to become a Jew but to gain a better understanding of our faith and to remember that this is part of our heritage because this is what Christianity came out of. There is a deep faith running through all of these as well as a rich history

I think that so long as we recognize Jesus as the Messiah King, and do not perform animal sacrifices, which Jesus ended with his perfect sacrifice, then we are okay.
