If your church has been without a pastor, how did it end up handling conflicts?

I went to a church that had no pastor a few years back. They had no pastor, cause they found out their pastor had been living a double life, so they kicked him out and now there were some elders. It was weird. One man bothered me, a wolf, so I warned that elder, but he was like be more forgiving. That guy was bothering loads of women every day, but they just let him do his mess, cause there was no pastor to deal with wolves and protect the sheep, so good luck with it, I went to another church, from which the pastor had kicked that guy out.

Did the first church ever call a new pastor?

No they still don't have one. There are a lot of evangelical/pentecostal churches in Holland with no pastor and only elders. Pastors don't get paid, so a lot don't bother. The other church, I don't go there either anymore. That pastor preached good, but only once every 2 months or so. The other days whoever babbled about whatever. Once a woman babbled about mother's day. I'm not doing all the effort to take my teens to a church to then listen to something like that.

Oh! I didn't know pastors didn't get paid. That's really sad because ministry here isn't just preaching on Sundays, it's full time. We have people called shut-ins who are usually very old and unhealthy and can't get out. The pastor goes to visit, does a mini service with them and brings them the Lord's Supper. Pastors also meet with parishioners who struggle with things throughout the week. Salaries are definitely needed.

My ex was a pastor. It was no problem when we had no kids, cause I had a job, but when we got kids, I wanted to work part time to spend time with them and it got irritating that he kept serving those ppl for almost nothing. He got 700 a month. Other pastors at a conference were jealous, cause they got nothing. In reformed churches in Holland reverends get a salary, but evangelical churches, only a few with a really big church.
