People preachy and obsessed with right-wing politics are into "white identity politics" - most of the time. How is that possibly different than other types?

Not sure just what answer you expect here, given you're painting with one of the broadest brushes I've seen in a while.

Most of the people I know who are right-wing just want to treat everyone the same. I remember a while back some guy said something about wishing people could be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin, and yet these days you can barely use a public restroom without being asked about your race.

In fairness most of the people I know who are left-wing also want to treat everyone the same, I suspect it's just the harder edges of the left who want to turn everything into a racial matter and endlessly make excuses for why whitey needs to give over some more.

When so many things turn into matters of race, sexuality, gender identity etc it becomes more and more absurd. As one commentator in the UK put it years ago, if you want your trash collected you put it out by the roadside and the nice men come and take it away. If you're gay and want your trash collected you put it out by the roadside and the nice men come and take it away. If you're black and want your trash collected you put it out by the roadside and the nice men come and take it away. If you're transgendered and want your trash collected you put it out by the roadside and the nice men come and take it away. As far as they are concerned their job is to collect the trash, so if you put your trash out they collect it. They don't care what's between your legs, what's in your head, who you prefer to share your bedroom with, they just see the trash put out and throw it in the truck.

If only we could look for solutions that just work, rather than endlessly fussing about whether this group is using the service, life would be so much better. Instead we just shift from one favored group to another, expecting everybody to yield to their every whim.

Well, a lot of conservatives are for "treating everyone the same" - but some aren't. I guess the rotten apples spoil the bunch. Of course, the rotten ones are always denying they're racist - when obviously they are. I think the conservatives who are racist have mental issues - just like liberals who are.

From what I can see the overt anti-nonwhite racism is predominantly associated with the silly fringes of the political right, although it's interesting to note that Nazi was an abbreviation of National Socialist so it's clearly not exclusively a right-wing thing.

The increasing silliness that whitey can do no right while anyone nonwhite can do no wrong, that a white cop arresting a black criminal must be racially motivated, and that seeks to inject race/gender/sexuality/etc into just about everything seems to be increasingly associated with the more mainstream political left.

Given the topic of the thread, the concept of guilt by association becomes increasingly ridiculous. I know lifelong Republicans who voted for Trump to keep Clinton out but hated doing it, I know lifelong Democrats who kinda bit their tongue and voted Clinton because she was marginally preferable to Trump, and a few on both sides who just couldn't bring themselves to vote for their party's candidate so wrote in a name of someone they could back. Yet the ones who are registered Republican are assumed to agree with and approve of every single thing any Republican ever says or does, and the registered Democrats are assumed to agree with and approve of every single thing just about any Democrat candidate says or does.
