We must once again congratulate MoreCoffee for his adroitness in turning attention away from unpalatable evidence that shines direct and negative light on the church that calls itself Catholic.
In Post #18 on Page 2 it was clearly shown that the Catholic Church itself had been directly and deliberately involved in the corruption of Holy Scripture, to make it conform to evolving Catholic Church doctrines.
In the very next post (Post #19), MoreCoffee, instead of refuting the points made in Post #18 (because he could not, I would suggest), he refocussed attention on books other than the Bible.
So let’s get back to the unintended window that MoreCoffee himself opened when he stated “I wonder how hard it is to write one's own additions to the bible?” (pointed out in case he tries the “off topic” diversion).
The Catholic Church stands guilty of Scripture manipulation. Much of that corruption has been exposed and some even admitted. Those manipulations have been the basis of support for doctrines found in most (if not all) “normal” churches. The question asked in Post #18 was, which of those churches (including the RCC) will be the first to repudiate them? The clear and natural answer is, not one of them. Entrenched vested interests and fallen human loyalties will see to that.
(That was not a criticism, by the way. It was merely a statement of conclusion based upon years of history and observation. Was the stated conclusion in any way incorrect?)
Only individuals can extract themselves from the situation of being trapped in tangents – tangents which are leading them away from God’s original truth – but the good news is, they can extricate themselves if they so choose.
My hope is that some will make that choice.
People who do make that choice, may face initial difficulty in the form of rejection, and even persecution, from their existing church “friends” (many do). The path may be hard at first. But in the end (once again, based on observation), the people who take the first step and follow that path will definitely not regret it.
