My husband used to work for the government and we still have friends back in Chicago who still do. Furloughs used to be scary for us because we wouldn't receive a paycheck and had no idea how long my husband would be out of work. It seemed though that after every furlough the money would be paid to us in the end though! Because of that, our friends who are still in the government working no longer fear the furloughs because they're just extra days off for them with pay.
