Of the 20th and 21st centuries, which decade would you say had the most frippery?

Definitely 20th. The 70's and 80's seemed to be quite heavy with it. I recall gaudy furniture, macrame flower pot hangers, fake plants, ugly lamps (standing, hanging, and table), etc. It was also the era of Muzak :D

Frippery of the 1920's seems to be more associated with dress style of the 'flapper' girl. So... Frippery, junk, rubbish, or flapper???

I think that the moment some people could afford essentially useless objects and pastimes frippery existed. Since the industrial revolution many more people can afford frippery consequently there is more frippery as wealth increases.
