I used Spotify premium for a while but recently switched to Pandora premium which is better in my opinion.
It's easier to navigate, sadly each apps won't allow specific songs or albums to be heard so you have to use the other... scam.
YouTube premium is actually really good to have, you can find almost anything on there and create a playlist and listen without having the app on, you can multitask or have the screen off, also watching videos is nice without having adds everywhere!

I prefer Spotify. It's interesting to experiment a bit with playlists. I have about three or four that I've developed for different moods I'm in. Usually I'll start out intending to have a list of 10 or 15 songs but will wind up with 60 or 70! I'll try to put songs in a certain order on each list so that there's a natural flow - so that they "fit" from one to the other. I have a 'Heavy' list (not just metal), classic jams (70's and 80's mixed genres), headphone jams (mostly 70's - Zeppelin, Floyd, Moody Blues, King Crimson). I want to work on a Jazz playlist soon - that'll be fun!

Now if you purchase a mp3 player you will need to download songs from the buyer unless you have cds to convert to mp3...
99 cents a song imo isn't worth it because you can only download it to a few devices or you would have to re buy them.. I spent so much money on iTunes years ago and lost my password and my iTouch stopped working, so all those records and songs I bought just pooof went bye bye forever.
