Favourite American Dishes?

Now, I don't mean American fast-food, I mean regional dishes, like Southern style cuisine and etc. Can any American friends online recommend me some restaurants in the US that serve this kind of cuisine?

Mac and Cheese....

BBQ ... while I realize the roots here are Mexican, etc. this is usually understood as American cuisine.

ONE of the things I love about the USA is how we embrace the cuisine of everyone.... Where I live, there are COUNTLESS restaurants featuring an enormous variety of cuisines of the world... sometimes keeping it quite "authentic" but often with a twist, an American twist, so that it becomes fusion - with infinite variety.

ONE great thing about people..... they tend to do great things with the foods they have to end up with something wonderful. Black slaves and Hispanic cowboys and displaced French in Lousiana did that years ago...and the result is fantastic.
