My mom had a bunch of sayings that related to her generation as well as her culture. When she passed away I wrote them all down in my phone and read them to my family and my sister had forgotten most of them! My daughter and nieces and nephews rarely heard her say some of them but that's because we all change how we talk as the years go by.
