Understanding Faith -

Faith is a lot like marriage. Man, he would like to be married. He goes to a match maker. In doing this, he took a couple leaps of faith. He made a decision to be stuck with someone in a life long relationship, and he is trusting in a match maker to set himself up with someone he will be happy with and love. His potential bride took some leaps of faith herself.

Man and woman, they are married. They took some leaps of faith. They may not have known each other well, if at all. They have the rest of their lives together.
Man, he goes to work during the day. He comes home, and finds his house clean, and dinner on the table. He didn't watch his wife do these things. He had evidence of things unseen and hoped for. (Hebrews 11:1) When he came home, and didn't smell like a barroom, and with hard earned money in his pocket, his wife had evidence of things unseen and hoped for. Over the next few months, they grow in faith with each other, a knowledgeable dependence.

Faith in God is like a marriage. (1 Corinthians 11:3) A man and woman can learn things about God and creation from each other, in marriage, given they have the right perspective. Was there an ideology, a perspective, a way of thinking that was different than this, steering someone into darkness? That may have been one of Satan schemes. (2 Corinthians 2:11)

Someone growing in faith, they are "Cleaved unto" God. They hold tight to. A man is cleaved unto his wife. He holds tight to. There are interesting allegories and concepts that run through the Bible, through multiple authors. This is evidence of God's Holy Spirit.

- Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear Him, and keep His commandments, and obey His voice, and ye shall serve Him and cleave unto Him. (Deuteronomy 13:4)

- Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. (Genesis 2:24)

To cleave. To hold tight to. To be one with.

A lot of people, they may have become complacent to God. Instead of having a fear of God, they became complacent, lazy, comfortable. Christians are to be vigilant.

Israel, in the Old Testament, is was a nation surrounded by enemies. A nation surrounded by pagans. Israel was to make no entangling alliances. Israel was to be separate and Holy, and hold tight to God. In the Book of Judges, given Israel fell away, they became oppressed. When they were oppressed, they called out to God, and God answered.

People tend to only need God when they are hurting? Men should stay vigilant with a fear of God.

The Spanish, Post-Rome, they were Christians. They may have become complacent, and been in sin. They were invaded by the Muslims. The Spanish Christians, they ended up with their backs against a wall, or their backs to the ocean. They may have had a need for God, and held tight to.

The English, Post-Rome, they may have become complacent and been in sin. They ended up invaded by the pagan vikings. The English, with their backs against the wall, they may have really needed God. They held tight to.

The Eastern Romans, they were in a vice. They were being attacked by the Persians. They were attacked by the pagan tribes like the Bulgarians. For 1000 years or so, they had some close calls. They may have fallen away, or did some ridiculous things, been invaded, and needed to hold tight to God.

Fear God. In 2024, there have been people pushing "Post - Christianity." Harvard University, they used to be a Christian Institution. More recently, their Apostate President was fired for cheating and plagiarism, and they have had an Atheist head pastor. Is that who has been driving morality around the world? Is that "progress?" Given a man is serving God more well, does the FBI get called on him sort of like the FBI being sent after traditional Catholics? I am not Catholic, that should worry you. You are worried about what is going on in Public School? Does the FBI start watching you going to the School District meetings?

Hold Tight to God. Be vigilant.

The Song of Songs is one of those books in the Bible that is often skipped over. A lot of the Old Testament can be read narratively, that is, there is a story. There is the story of creation. There is the story of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. There is the story of David. There is the story of the Kings of Israel. Between the narrative, and the Prophets, there is Psalms and Proverbs and some other books that break up the story, and are approached differently.

The Songs of Songs is in the Bible as a representation of God's love for Israel or The Church. That gets into Eros love.

Definition of Eros
2 : the sum of life-preserving instincts that are manifested as impulses to gratify basic needs, as sublimated impulses, and as impulses to protect and preserve the body and mind — compare death instinct
3 a : love conceived by Plato as a fundamental creative impulse having a sensual element
b often not capitalized : erotic love or desire
Definition of EROS

A man's body is a temple. Jesus lives in a man through his Holy Spirit. Jesus is The Bridegroom.

People wanted to kill Moses. People wanted to kill Elijah. Jeremiah was hated and thrown in a well. Many people wanted to kill the prophets.

- Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 38 Look, your house is left to you desolate. 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[a]” (Matthew 23:37-29)

Part of Eros love would be an impulse to protect and preserve, a death instinct. It is not loving life. He who loves his life will lose it. A death instinct. Someone is a doer, working to build God's Kingdom. He becomes aware of threats.
