I've been sick for 2 weeks and now it's gone into my eye. I know it's very contagious, so I wiped down everything that I could in the middle of the night once I figure out what was happening, and I have been using warm compresses.

If you've had viral pink eye before, what helped you to not pass it onto others and to also clear up. Did warm compresses work or did the cold ones work better?

When I have any problem with my eyes, such as inflamation, or something got in my eye and I can't get out, I use the medicine 'Stye'. It is an ointment for the eyes that can be bought without prescription. And at night before going to bed I put a bunch in my eye or eyes. And a nights sleep is usually enough to cure it.

Just because it is called 'Stye' doesn't mean it can't serve other purpose for your eyes, other than styes.

Just my opinion.

I don't want to make anything worse because of my extreme allergies. I see that the ingredients aren't that many in Stye, so if it doesn't clear up next week, I'll probably pick some up. Thanks.

I had conjunctivitis years ago. The pharmacist gave me a cream for it that I had to apply multiple times a day. It was a real pain - I had to wash my hands, apply to one eye, wash hands again, apply to the other eye, wash hands again. But it seemed to work. I have no idea what it was, it was over 10 years ago now.

Whether what I had was viral or bacterial I have no idea. Trying to get the cream into the appropriate place was really fiddly, it took me a few tries to figure out how to apply it to the right area.

It was probably bacterial is my guess.

I've just been using warm compresses to stop the eyes from gluing shut when I have my eyes closed. I got up like 5 times last night to do this and it helps. I'm hoping that yesterday was the worst of it.
