I ap[ologize, seems like I get led into these things by certain posts but Jesus is and should be the focus always. tomorrow we will celebrate He is risen and that is the ultimate power, over death and the grave, over everything evil, for He led captivity captive and took paradise from the earth and moved the inhabitants to heaven. I thank God every day for His son

The truth is no deflection even if it frustrates your purposes. Rabbits are God's creatures and the represent nothing but themselves as his creatures. It is a blessing to see things as they are rather than as one wants them to be or as superstitions teach.

But that's not really the point of the discussion.

God created everything but that's not the topic at hand. If you're going to create a festival that celebrates fertility you'd expect to see things that relate to fertility, and eggs and rabbits seem like pretty good examples of such things. If you want a festival that celebrates the summertime you'd expect things like parasols, barbecues, cold beers, beach wear, volleyball.

The fact God created something doesn't mean it can't be misused. God created yeast and sugar, God created men and women, God created the sex drive, but a drunken orgy isn't a Godly thing.

I think that it is. The topic is Easter as it really is rather than as superstitions teach the ignorant to believe it to be. Easter is not a pagan religious ceremony it is in reality a Christian celebration centred on the passion and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Superstitious popular practises and beliefs teach people about fertility, bunnies, eggs, and paganism but these are not the reality they are ignorant beliefs no more important or valid than King Minos' adventures with the sacred bull. I make these observations because given the motivation and the time every day of the year and every season of it will be found to have some pagan religious association. Worrying about such associations is wasting one's time and cheating one's self out of the good gifts that God gives by mentally polluting them with ideas drawn from falsehood. Easter is a good thing, a glorious thing. It is about Jesus Christ. It is not about some association between "east" and "sunrise" and "fertility".

Just speaking to the time of year/season as it relates to the celebration and forms part of the secular/nature based whatever one wants to call it part of the celebration.

It's Easter "Sun"day here in Australia

And it's officially Autumn, not Spring. But the bunnies and eggs are out for sale in the shops, and I even saw a person in a bunny suit the other day.

Similarly, Christmas day has people putting lights on their homes, trees in their living areas and Santa makes an appearance down from the cold cold north pole (in full garb sometimes, in shorts for the more pragmatic players at other times)...

In the middle of Summer.

So for this part of the world, the (again, non-religious or secular) parts of the celebration are purely tradition, not being connected in any way to the seasons here.

I suspect part of this (probably a large part) is almost certainly more for commercial reasons than anything else.

Alleluia! Alleluia!

Interestingly one of our TV stations as THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST on at the moment I write these words. It is just starting. Odd that they chose today for it instead of Good Friday.
