Duolingo

Does anyone use Duolingo to learn foreign languages? I had forgotten that I had started using it when I first got my laptop, but then stopped because none of my Spanish speaking friends would speak Spanish with me. It's hard to retain what you learn if you don't use it.

Oh yeah I have the app for it on my phone...i wanted to start learning Spanish since some of my co-workers speak Spanish... ..I havent used it in months though...i think i made the Duolingo owl sad LOL

I have used Duolingo. As you said, when you don't use it, you forget it.

You can get back into it. Maybe surprise your co-workers with a sentence every now and again?

I was learning Czech. Not many Czech speakers around here.

I got interested in learning doing some family research.

Oh that would be a toughie to learn and try to retain, for sure! You'd need to be taking a trip someplace in order to use it right away. I don't even know of any Czech communities for you to visit in the US, although there are most likely pockets of them here and there.
