The church I previously attended didn't have Sunday morning service the last Sunday of the year (between Christmas and New Years).

The church I'm currently attending doesn't have Sunday School the last two Sundays of the year but still has the regular Sunday Morning Worship Service. Mid-week services/classes are canceled the last couple of weeks of the year.

It depends on the weather forecast and also if we'll have a pastor and organist. We have a tiny church and I don't remember any times being canceled, but I'm sure it was possible.

I've known services to be cancelled when weather is particularly bad. I think the idea is to avoid a situation where people who live a distance away feel they need to attend - even when services were cancelled there were enough people living locally enough that the service could have gone ahead.
