I think the cheap brands are weak, but the original are still good quality.

Same. I have some right next to the desk here. I usually use something bigger though, cuz itty bitty little square pieces of paper don't always do the trick, and I don't like sticking anything to my computer.

I'll use full pieces of paper folded in half, and write with a marker. Only it makes for some clutter, LoL.

My husband brought some reams of paper home from where he works that they were going to throw out because they have 3 hole punches, so I use those and tear them in half. I have a pile of those next to my laptop with various notes on them. Great size for a shopping list.
