Most commonly, I think yes. We still have our sinful nature ant that will lead us to find a new sin to fill the vacuum left by the old one and lead us back the the sinful state we found ourselves comfortable in before.
Think of it as someone that gives up, say, smoking and then becomes obese by overeating in its place. Or someone that gives up excessive alcohol consumption to cope with the stress of their life and replaces it with something like marijuana to do the same thing.
This could lead to an interesting discussion of how both Biblical principles and psychology can work to overcome addictions such as a 'sin addiction' and liberate us from them.
My thoughts on the matter, others may just as validly think differently than I do.
