I was just wondering if anyone else on here is Diabetic and what do you do to control it? I am type 2 for the last 16 years and take metformin and insulin (Lantus and Humalog).
I'm seeing a dietician on Tuesday to discuss changing my diet.

I to am diabetic, Type 2... I take pills for it morning and night 1 lot in the morning and one lot at night Metformin, is the night cant remember the morning name, Ye they seem to be working ok but sugar levels do go up and down at times tho but nothing major, I mentioned it to the doctor so had blood tests done and she said is fine so I guess it is. I've only had it since last October so I'm a newbie to it..

So you don't check your blood sugar daily with a meter? I check about 5-6 times a day. A good A1C test is suppose to be around a 6.5

Because depending on my stress level, how much I eat and how much insulin I get my numbers change quite a bit. It is hard to predict sometimes whether I am going to be high or low. I carry my meter with me everywhere I go.

yeah, i'm sure I would lose a lot of weight since I hate vegetables. When I was first diagnosed in 2001 I went on a strong low carb diet and lost 28 pounds. I found them since then though
Someone asked me what kind of diet I was on and I said I taste it and if I like it I spit it out because I can't have that.
