Encouraging “Deliverance from Darkness” Pointers​

What I love about Colossians 1:13–14 is how personal it is. Paul doesn’t say God might deliver us, or could deliver us — he says He has delivered us. It’s already done. Already accomplished. Already secured in Christ.
Darkness isn’t just “bad behavior.” It’s blindness, heaviness, confusion, shame, fear, and the sense of being trapped inside a version of ourselves we don’t want to be. And Paul says Jesus doesn’t negotiate with that darkness — He rescues us from it.
Not halfway. Not conditionally. Not temporarily. But fully.
He brings us out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of the Son He loves.
That means:

• your past cannot reclaim you
• your failures cannot define you
• your shame cannot accuse you
• your fears cannot imprison you
• your old identity cannot follow you
• your darkness cannot speak the final word

Because Christ already spoke the final word at the cross.
And the beauty of the gospel is this:
Deliverance isn’t something we achieve — it’s something we receive.
We don’t climb out of darkness. We’re carried out of it.
We don’t earn redemption. We’re given redemption.
We don’t fight our way into the kingdom. We’re transferred into it by the One who loves us.
If anyone feels stuck, tired, guilty, ashamed, or afraid — Colossians 1:13–14 is your reminder:
You are already rescued. Already redeemed. Already brought into the light. Already loved. Already His.
And darkness doesn’t get the last chapter. Jesus does!
